Reenvisioning Transit in Western Nevada County/Comprehensive Operational Analysis
As part of the regional transportation planning process, Nevada County Transportation Commission (NCTC) in coordination with the Nevada County Transit Services Division secured a Caltrans Strategic Transit Partnership grant to conduct a Comprehensive Operation Analysis (COA) of the transit system in western Nevada County. The work product resulting from this effort will guide the Nevada County Transit Services Division in redefining transit services to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness, improve convenience and coverage, and promote increased ridership. The COA will examine all aspects of Nevada County Transit Services existing services such as bus service/routes, bus types, fares and fare payment options, bus stops/park and ride lots, real time tracking, and research new and innovative ways to provide transit services to residents living in the incorporated cities of Grass Valley and Nevada City as well as the rural communities of Penn Valley, Rough and Ready, Lake Wildwood, Alta Sierra, North San Juan, and Lake of the Pines. The firm TDG Engineering, Inc. an affiliate of Toole Design Group, LLC (TDG Engineering, Inc.) was selected to complete the Reenvisioning Transit in Western Nevada County/COA.
