Re-Envisioning Transit in Western Nevada County
Since 1975, the Nevada County Transit Services Division has worked to provide safe and reliable bus transportation in Western Nevada County through Nevada County Connects. It began with only two routes in Grass Valley and Nevada City. Over the years, the system has grown to serve more communities. The Transit Services Division also operates Nevada County Now, an on-demand (Dial-a-Ride) service for seniors and passengers with disabilities.
The Nevada County Transit Services Division and Nevada County Transportation Commission are currently leading a project that uses data and community input to identify updates and improvements needed across the transit system in Western Nevada County. Feedback gathered from residents and commuters will help to highlight priorities and potential transit system improvements to better serve the community.
